About JW Soft

A product studio shaped by teaching, engineering, and operating the work firsthand.

I build software for situations where the available tools almost fit—but the remaining gap is where the real work, frustration, and opportunity live.

I am a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology at Mohawk College and a sessional instructor at McMaster University. My teaching spans engineering, programming, systems design, software prototyping, and product development.

JW Soft is the independent product studio through which I design, build, launch, and operate web and mobile applications. The portfolio crosses education, sports operations, finance, communication, and wellness—but the pattern is consistent: begin with a real workflow and build something deliberately fitted to it.

AI has become central to how I work. I use it to accelerate research, design, implementation, testing, and iteration, allowing me to turn ideas into working tools quickly. I also build AI into the tools themselves when it can remove repetitive effort, reveal useful patterns, or help someone make a better-informed decision.

I also organize and direct pickleball tournaments. That operational work gives me a direct environment for discovering problems, testing tools under real pressure, and seeing the edge cases that are invisible from a feature list.
